This event is part of our Fall 2008 series centering on Mexican culture Organized by the Instituto Cervantes in collaboration with the Consulate General of México and the UNAM Juan Villoro was born in Mexico in 1956. He was awarded the Villaurrutia Award for his book La casa pierde, the Mazatlán Award for his essays Efectos personales and the Herralde Award for his novel El testigo. For three years he was editor of La Jornada Semana, the cultural supplement of the newspaper La Jornada. He has been a professor in the University Autónoma de México, at Yale University and the University Pompeu Fabra of Barcelona. His more recent books are Accidental Safari and God is Round. Villoro is also a weekly columnist for the newspaper Reforma.
