Beto Luna defends his workplace of more than forty years as the building is about to be demolished. Osvaldo Lazzari, who is in charge of the demolition, soon identifies with Beto’s situation: terrible working conditions with no insurance and no job security. The men soon join forces in order to face the destruction, not of the building itself, but of their own lives. In their fight for the cause, they manage to recruit enough people to prevent the destruction of the building. The pressure of the moment causes Beto to have a breakdown and is taken to the hospital. By then, however, the people have already taken over the building and are firmly defending it.
